One of the most prolific symbols I encountered throughout my travels in Mexico, Arizona and New Mexico was the flaming heart. The whole area is a melting pot of different religious traditions and symbols. The imagery on this pot stems from my own musings on what I found to be iconic: flaming hearts, niches, agave and yucca, all against the backdrop of wide skies, huge mountains and vast open valleys.
